Made by STÜWE for propeller shafts with main power up to 25MW in large yachts, cruise ships, ferries or commercial and navy vessels.

Due to a modular system our devices can be supplied with all three, just two or only one of the main functions which are STOP-TURN-BLOCK.


the shaft can be braked down - stopped - after disconnecting the main engine by a brake system which can be hydraulically, pneumatically or electrically actuated. The power unit is included (in the scope of supply) and the interface and function will be customized according to your needs.


turning the main shaft in both directions without starting the main engine. The turning device is electrically operated and is normally equipped with a safety handwheel for emergency operation. The difference between the required static and dynamic turn torque is taken into account. The gear wheel is normally split and a part of the delivery by STÜWE.


the shaft can be blocked by a pin that engages in the holes of the discs. The operation of the pin can be easily done by hand or conveniently by handwheel or electric operation.


The STB system from STÜWE includes a control system which can be local or with an interface to the bridge. Of course, all safety aspects of operation are taken into account in the control system, resulting in simple and safe operation. Please ask if you need a full remote control.
